GameChange Solar Achieves Level 4 B-BBEE Status, Championing Inclusive Growth and Renewable Energy in South Africa

GameChange Solar, a global frontrunner in solar tracking and racking solutions, has secured a Level 4 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) certification in South Africa—underscoring its commitment to inclusive economic transformation and sustainable energy development in the region.

“This isn’t just about ticking boxes,” said Sibulele Dlova, General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa at GameChange Solar.
“Level 4 status reflects our long-term vision for meaningful empowerment—strengthening local supply chains, building skills, and creating real opportunities where they’re needed most.”

A Holistic Approach to Empowerment

The B-BBEE Level 4 rating recognizes GameChange Solar’s achievements across all five pillars of the framework: ownership, management control, skills development, enterprise and supplier development, and socio-economic impact.

Key Milestones in Empowerment and Development:

  • Skills Development: GameChange has invested in learnerships, bursaries, and entrepreneurship training, with a focus on youth and people with disabilities—building a pipeline of talent for South Africa’s renewable energy future.

  • Enterprise & Supplier Development: The company actively collaborates with SMMEs, achieving up to 90% local content in its product offerings, and nurturing local innovation and economic resilience.

  • Inclusive Procurement: Prioritizing partnerships with Black-owned and Black women-owned enterprises, the company ensures that its procurement practices reflect the country’s inclusive growth goals.

  • Youth Empowerment: As a committed partner in the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative, GameChange Solar provides work experience and specialized training to prepare young South Africans for careers in the green economy.

Driving a Just Energy Transition in Sub-Saharan Africa

As GameChange Solar continues to scale its operations across Sub-Saharan Africa, the company is doubling down on its dual mission: accelerating clean energy adoption and ensuring that growth is broad-based and inclusive.

“South Africa’s renewable energy future must be both green and just,” added Dlova. “We’re proud to be part of that transformation.”
