Indian solar manufacturer Goldi Solar has announced plans to significantly expand its solar cell and module production capacity in the coming years. By mid-2026, the company intends to boost its annual solar module nameplate capacity from 3GW to 14GW, and by the 2027 fiscal year, it plans to establish a 4GW solar cell manufacturing plant.
The new module facility will be located in Gujarat, where Goldi Solar already operates two other module assembly plants—one in Pipodara and another in Navsari—with a combined capacity of 3GW. The addition of solar cell production aims to reduce the company’s dependence on imported cells and further strengthen India’s solar industry.
To support this expansion, Goldi Solar plans to increase its workforce by hiring 4,000 new employees.
“This capacity expansion marks a defining moment for Goldi Solar,” said Ishver Dholakiya, founder and managing director of the company. “We’re not just expanding our production capacity; we’re laying the groundwork for innovation and leadership in the renewable energy sector.”
