Superior Industries updated its Exterra conveyor belt cleaners as a means for operators to reduce the time required to maintain scraping systems.
According to Superior, a new fast-acting click tensioner is available for the primary and secondary Exterra models. After installation, operators twist the tensioning unit a prescribed number of times to set the proper force. Click-count instructions are labeled on the aluminum housing that protects the springs.
Additionally, Superior says its SFL (set for life) scraper models are now manufactured with a special extruded tube. The tube is designed to house the springs and seal them from fugitive material.
Exterra belt cleaners with the SFL option require tensioning just once at the time of installation, Superior says. Accurate tension is maintained automatically – with no required maintenance – for the entire life of the blade.
Several models of Exterra belt scrapers are available in both aggregate and mine-duty constructions. Blade widths are available up to 102 in.
Superior plans to showcase its complete line of Exterra belt cleaners at ConExpo-Con/Agg, which takes place March 14-18 in Las Vegas.
