Enugu State Extends Deadline for Renewable Energy Project Proposals

The Enugu State Government has extended the deadline for the submission of proposals under its Renewable Energy Project Development initiative (REDSEM) by one week. The programme is being implemented in partnership with the Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP), GIZ Nigeria, and ECOWAS.

The initiative is designed to attract credible and experienced solar mini-grid developers to deliver innovative projects that expand electricity access in unserved and underserved communities across the state.

Project Scope and Support

The call for proposals focuses on the development of solar mini-grids capable of supplying at least 1,500 new customers, with system capacities ranging from 0.2MW to 1.0MW.

Successful developers will benefit from in-kind grant support, covering up to 70–80% of capital expenditure (CAPEX). Site selection is expected to be based on the Nigerian SE4ALL geospatial database.

Extended Deadline

The new deadline for applications is Friday, 22 August 2025, at 5:00 PM.

Submission Guidelines

Interested developers are required to submit both hard and soft copies of their proposals to the designated address provided by the Enugu State Government.
