New Product: Xantrex Unveils 24V and 36V Lithium-Ion Trolling Motor Batteries

Xantrex, owned by Mission Critical Electronics (MCE) and a leading supplier in power solutions for the mobile and marine markets, announces the launch of its new 24V and 36V 50Ah Lithium-Ion Phosphate (LiFePO4) Batteries designed specifically for marine trolling motor applications. These batteries are built to address the unique demands of marine environments while offering a range of features that ensure safe and efficient operation.

These batteries can be requested as an OEM install with most finishing boats, or as an aftermarket add on through Xantrex Authorized dealers.

The Xantrex LiFePO4 batteries are optimized for trolling motor applications, where reliability and consistent power are essential. To support this, the batteries incorporate an Internal Battery Management System (BMS) that integrates key safety and performance functions. The BMS not only protects against overcharging, over-discharging, and overheating but also minimizes system footprint, making installation straightforward even in compact spaces typical in marine settings.

Utilizing cells certified to UL1642 standard, Xantrex’s new batteries incorporate redundant safety features, making them the safest option available in the market. Designed to withstand the harsh marine environments, the batteries last up to 10 times the cycles as compared to a traditional lead acid or AGM battery. This makes the Xantrex batteries a more sustainable and cost-effective option in the long run.

To further enhance efficiency, these batteries come equipped with a smart sleep mode that activates after 10 days of inactivity. During this period, the self-discharge rate reduces from 12.5% SOC per month to just 3% SOC per month, conserving energy while keeping the battery ready for use even after extended periods of downtime. Applying a charge will automatically reactivate the battery, resetting the 10-day timer and ensuring seamless operation when it’s time to hit the water again.

These batteries feature Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to monitor battery status and performance through the Xantrex App. This provides boaters with real-time insights, including state of charge, temperature, and other key metrics, ensuring they have the information needed to manage their power effectively.

Recognizing that marine applications often involve varied climates, Xantrex offers an optional heating blanket for installations in colder conditions. This feature is designed to maintain optimal battery performance even when exposed to low temperatures, ensuring consistent power delivery regardless of the environment.

“At Xantrex, we are dedicated to providing innovative solutions that enhance the boating experience. Our new LiFePO4 batteries are a testament to this commitment, delivering advanced safety features, intelligent energy conservation, and exceptional longevity,” said John Kalbfleisch, CEO of Xantrex. “We believe these batteries will significantly benefit marine enthusiasts by offering reliable power in demanding conditions, and we are proud to bring such a high-quality solution to the market.”

The Xantrex 24V 50Ah Lithium-Ion Battery (886-0050-24) is listed at a MSRP of $824 USD.

The Xantrex 36V 50Ah Lithium-Ion Battery (886-0050-36) is listed at a MSPR of $1,250 USD.

The new Lithium-Ion Batteries are in stock and available for shipping.
