Premier Energies Secures $19.95 Million Solar Projects in Benin

Premier Energies Limited has been awarded contracts totaling USD 19.95 million to supply and install solar power systems across the Republic of Benin, West Africa, as part of a government initiative to expand access to clean and sustainable energy.

The projects will see the installation of 750 rooftop solar systems at key community facilities, including district police stations, schools, health centres, and border surveillance units. Additionally, more than 4,400 high-efficiency solar streetlights and 650 solar water heaters will be deployed nationwide.

Execution of the projects will be carried out in collaboration with the General Directorate of Energy Planning and Rural Electrification under Benin’s Ministry of Energy, Water and Mines. Financial support is being provided through a line of credit from the Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank) and the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID).

“These initiatives are set to improve community safety, healthcare, education, and overall energy sustainability in Benin,” said Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director and CEO of Premier Energies. “The contract award underscores our operational expertise and strengthens our position in the global renewable energy market.”

Founded in 1995, Premier Energies is one of India’s leading vertically integrated solar manufacturers. Supported by GEF Capital, the company continues to expand its international presence in renewable energy markets.
